Panama -a tiny
slither of land that string up Costa Rica and Colombia. When I was in high
school back in the Philippines we were once in Geography class discussing about
Panama canal and I was so
disinterested that my seat mate said, " you'll never know one day you will
be passing the famous canal". Sure I did! Not only did I pass through
the canal but I lived along the Panama Canal and on a nice evening I can watch
and count ships passing by.
Panama is famous for a few things: The panama
hat and the
Panama Canal. Actually, the panama hat is
not at all Panamanian but made in Ecuador. The Panama Canal used also to belong
to the US but has just been recently turned over to the Panamanian authority.
A
few years back when I was living in Panama City I would say that is is very
cosmopolitan but I have heard now that since the hand over of the canal tourism
has decreased.
The country itself has some rainforest and you can go
snorkelling and scuba diving. Sport fishing is very good in Panama. Most of the
prized catch are caught along the Panamanian waters.
